In 1875 the Maglio family arrived in Maglie (Le), where the company is still based today.
It was the talent and tenacity of Antonio, who opened an inn with a change of horses, to lay the foundations of a brand that has gone through decades, fashions, wars, social changes. To follow the customs of the time, Giuseppe, Antonio's son, opened a café in the city center with an adjoining confectionery workshop.
Worthy heir of such an enterprising father was Dante, who in the early twentieth century not only added to his main activity that of banquets and receptions at home, but also started the production of artisan liqueurs. As for the many specialties based on almond paste, Dante found in the chocolate, used for the coating, a precious ally to prolong their conservation.
His son Vincenzo, in the 1960s, found fertile ground to intensify the production of chocolate and pastry: an innovative spirit, he invented recipes, enriched the confectionery production and decided to identify the company with the brand with the gig.
Currently, at the head of the Maglio group, there are Maurizio and Massimo, who have inherited a priceless heritage of values and knowledge and the responsibility of making Maglio live, in the present and in the future, in Italy and abroad.
