Organoleptic characteristics
Organic chestnut honeys are dark amber in liquid form and often golden-brown when crystallised. Dominant vegetable aroma of medium intensity and persistence. It is slightly sour and bitter and sometimes a little spicy.
Production area
Apiaries are located in protected high mountain areas.
Pollen spectrum
Dominant pollen with values above 70%: Castanea sativa.
