Venchi began in 1878, with Silviano Venchi, a 20-year-old from Turin who loved chocolate so much that he spent all his savings on two bronze cauldrons and began to experiment, first in his apartment, then in a small place on Via degli Artisti in Borgo Vanchiglia, Turin.
After a few years of successful experiments, he created Nougatine, a chocolate with chopped caramelized Piedmont Hazelnuts then coated in extra-dark chocolate. Venchi, “the most elegant chocolate shop in Piedmont”, was awarded, among other things, as “Purveyor to the Royal Household”.
Those same passion, meticulous care and courage to experiment remain, and so it was that all of Venchi imaginatively named chocolates were created: Chocoviar, Truffles, Gianduiotti, Cremini, Bars, Suprema spread, Gelato, Gourmet eggs... All delicious, healthy, natural, made with the best ingredients and the best intentions: to look on the bright side of life.
